'ROOS & JOEYS™

(Parent/Toddler Dance)

You may have heard these types of classes referred to as “Mommy & Me” or “Moms & Tots”…but we don’t want to leave the dads, grandparents, and other caretakers out of the fun! The name “‘Roos and Joeys” represents the transitional nature of the class (toward being able to attend a class without a caretaker), and echoes the relationship of the newborn baby kangaroo to its mother, preparing for independence from the safety of its mother’s pouch.

‘Roos & Joeys class is a enjoyable way to interact and bond with your little “Joey” as they are exposed to rhythm, movement, coordination, as well as the social protocol of a “classroom” setting. ‘Roos & Joeys class is also a great introduction to dance for children who plan to eventually enroll in pre-K dance lessons!

Class Requirements:

  • Comfy apparel and stocking feet
  • There is no age requirement, but the child should be able to walk without assistance
  • Maximum two children per adult, but a one-to-one ratio is recommended! Tuition rates are per child (i.e., if two children are accompanied by one adult, they will still be charged as two students). Both children must meet the enrollment requirements listed above
  • Although any caretaker or family member over the age of 18 may accompany the child to class, the child must be registered by a legal guardian
  • Unenrolled siblings who must attend class must observe only

Early Childhood Group Music Classes

Starts at 18 months

Music FunTime is more than a simple play group where children sing, dance, jump and play instruments.

Music FunTime at Forte Academy of Dance & Music is an innovative, structured, and progressive curriculum derived from Johns-Hopkins Research exploring the magical connection between math & science through music for children under 7 years of age.  Children learn to read music notation, rhythms and symbols, and play the instruments of their choosing.

Through small preschool, kindergarten and early elementary group music classes in a classroom atmosphere, children use musical crafts, worksheets, games and instruments in a fun and exciting way to explore and nurture a strong music foundation which becomes a way of life, thus, gaining all the benefits of uniting both hemispheres of the brain. This class is a great primer for students planning to enter private music lessons starting at age 6.
